When considering bankruptcy, it is important to consider Bankruptcy Alternatives or
Section 128 allows you to consolidate most types of unsecured debt. This is a bankruptcy alternative (not a bankruptcy) through the State of Wisconsin. Your debts are paid in full but without interest, and must be paid within three years. You can include most unsecured debts, but cannot include your car or mortgage arrears as in a Chapter 13. A 128 will stop wage garnishments and utility disconnections.
Debt negotiation is a great alternative for someone who has a relatively large sum of money to pay off their bills—just not enough to pay everyone in full.
